Bob de Boer — Director
Bob has over 35 years of operational experience in major telecommunications projects, both internationally and domestically. He began his career as an Engineer in Lines Construction with Telecom Australia in 1972. During his 24 years with Telecom, he worked his way up to become the CEO of its Visionstream business.
He also managed major network rollouts and service operations including Telstra’s HFC network (Foxtel and Broadband), Reef Network for Optus and the Nextgen optical fibre network. The scope of the Nextgen Network project comprised the design, construction, commissioning, operations and maintenance of an ultra-high bandwidth fibre optic cable network connecting terminal or primary nodes located in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth.
In 1996 Leighton Holdings acquired Visionstream. Bob continued as the CEO and Managing Director of Visionstream until he retired in 2009.
Bob is a Director of GQI Consulting and is based in Melbourne.
